  • Your cutting board has been treated with food safe mineral oil. It is vital that you keep your board well maintained to help it last for years to come.

    Some Do's and Don’ts:

    Do

    • wash your board with warm soapy water.
    • dry immediately with a towel.

    Don’t

    • place in the dish washer. This can warp and splinter the wood.
    • submerge or let stand in water. The wood will absorb water, warp and crack.
    • use bleach or other harsh products. This can excessively dry or discolour your board.
    • Put the board flat to dry. This can cause one side to dry and the other to stay wet causing warping.

    Treating your board.

Ensure your board is clean and dry. Apply a small amount of Locket & Beards Board Wax with a lint free cloth or kitchen towel, using circular motions to cover the whole board, then rubdown with a dry cloth. We recommend you do this several times a year, or whenever your board needs a freshen up.

If you wish to re-oil your board, we recommend you use food safe mineral oils. Olive oil would also work fine. Again, just apply with a cloth, allow to soak in, and rubdown with a dry cloth.

You can use baking soda to remove stains and lemon juice to remove odours.
